Programme Highlight

In response to the critical climate change issues, many countries and cities have set challenging targets to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050-60. Energy saving, clean energy and renewable energy have been identified as the most significant solutions to help achieve the carbon neutrality targets. The job market for energy engineers is growing rapidly. This is the golden opportunity for energy engineers to pursue an exciting, prosperous professional career. In this presentation, the speaker will talk about how one can well prepare to obtain appropriate academic qualifications and industrial trainings to successfully become a professional energy engineer in Hong Kong.

Speakers

Ir Walter Au is a Director of Lik Kai Engineering Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties Group, providing E&M contracting, energy and green solution services for new project developments and property management. He plays an active role in the implementation of energy improvement and carbon reduction initiatives, ESG, ISO50001 EMS as well as the application of advanced construction technologies. A Fellow member of HKIE and CIBSE, Ir Au is currently the Chairman of HKIE Energy Discipline Advisory Panel and an active Professional Assessment Assessor. He serves on various advisory and statutory panels, professional and trade bodies.

 

Ir Prof. Michael K.H. LEUNG is the Shun Hing Education and Charity Fund Professor of Energy and Environment and the Director of Ability R&D Energy Research Centre in the School of Energy and Environment at the City University of Hong Kong. He is the Member at Large Representative of China in the Board of Directors of the International Solar Energy Society. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the HKIE Transactions. He is also a Fellow Member of HKIE. His research and teaching are closely related to energy efficiency and renewable energy.

Prior registration is required. Applications will be accepted on a first-come first served basis with the priorities given to HKIE-EG members. 

Successful members will be notified by an email with a Zoom Meeting link closer to the   event date. 

Electronic copy of CPD certificate will be sent to successful members through email within one month after the event.
