Cavities/voids presented in building structures are commonly happened. Seriously, structures may collapsed because unexpected cavities/voids presented inside the structures. Some well-developed and innovative non-destructive test methods are using in cavities/voids detection of building and civil structures in order to prevent serious or fatal accident happened in advance. In this webinar, the environmental ways for cavities/voids detection such as ultrasonic pulse, thermography, penetrating radar and ultrasonic tomography will be discussed regarding to their application, performance and result interpretation in detection. In addition, lower the carbon footprint during operation in the future will be discussed.

Ir Kenneth Lee BSc MSc CEng MIMMM MHKIE Lecturer in Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC), Construction Industry Council (CIC) Kenneth is a technical assessor of Hong Kong Accreditation Service. He is a committee member of reviewing a local standard named “Detection of External Wall Debonding/Delamination by Infrared Thermography” published by The Hong Kong Concrete Institute (HKCI). He worked in Castco Testing Centre Limited for years as a Technical Manager. He was one of the HOKLAS approved signatories in Castco. He planned, managed, supervised and performed various projects and special tests related to building diagnosis, structural investigation, thermography, penetrating radar & ultrasound.
